NEW Build Your Skills Clinics

We are introducing a NEW series of one-hour classes called Clinics. The clinics are broken down into three categories: Paper Crafting, Mixed Media, and Inspiration. In 60 minutes, you’ll learn various paper crafting and mixed media techniques and create samples on 4”x4” pages to be put into your Clinic Playbook. Inspiration Clinics will focus more on finished projects. Most clinics are offered multiple times to help fit your schedule!
All supplies provided. Registration required, so please sign up as soon as possible. For ages 14 and up.

Learn multiple techniques to create vintage paper looks from any piece of paper. We will use Tim Holtz Distress ink pads of different colors with blending tools, water, tea stain inks, even coffee, to create your 4” X 4” samples. Taught by Helen Bosely.

Colored Pencils Clinic

In this class we will learn about a few different kinds and brands of popular pencils. We will do a few experiments on how to use this fun coloring medium, building layers of color and how to use the white. Helen's favorite. Zutter Bind-It-All Clinic

Learn techniques using your Bind-It-All (or the one in the studio!). Frames, Ribbon Embellishments, and Organization. Lots of uses you may have never thought of! If you have one, bring your Bind-It-All - but we will have the one from the studio to use as well! Taught by Betsy Buckel.

Did you know you can use acrylic paints as a transfer medium? Get some practice doing this one form of this frustrating but amazing technique. Bring a few toner copies if you'd like, or I'll have some here for you. Taught by Helen Bosely.

Rubber Stamps:
Tips for Success

Rubber stamping is a little like Backgammon. It takes minutes to learn and a lifetime to understand all the subtleties. This clinic will include tips and tricks to be successful. We'll learn a bit about paper and inks, how to make your stamp images more successful, how to mask to create depth and a few ideas to color your stamping. Taught by Helen Bosely.

Adhesives Clinic

In this clinic we will experiment with different forms of adhesives, including tapes, dots, wet glues and mediums. We will play with different things to attach as well. Glitter, paper, embellishments, flocking even gold leaf. Taught by Helen Bosely.

Cut, Fold, & Tear Clinic

This is the perfect class to learn all about how paper works when cutting it, tearing it, and folding it. We’ll use various tools including a paper trimmer, bone folder, scoring board, decorative scissors, and even a paint brush! Taught by Helen Bosely.

Dry Embossing Clinic

Using Spellbinders Wizard die cut machine is almost TOO easy when creating beautiful embossed and debossed effects. We will use embossing plates, brass stencils and even some unusual items to add texture to paper. Try it, you’ll like it! Taught by Helen Bosely.

Heat Embossing Clinic

Heat embossing is so easy and satisfying, but there are ways to make it work consistently and different effects you can create. Learn the difference between inks and powders, even papers. Experiment with different combinations and get a taste of UTEE to create a tile effect. Taught by Helen Bosely.

Playbook Covers Clinic

Create book covers for your 4” x 4” samples using classic book making techniques. Decorate them with skills from other clinics! Don’t forget to bring in your finished samples to add into the book! Taught by Helen Bosely.
