In our 60-minute Clinics, you’ll learn various paper crafting and mixed media techniques and create samples on 4”x4” pages to be put into your Clinic Playbook. All supplies provided.
Registration required, so please sign up as soon as possible. For ages 14 and up.

August is Clinic Month at the Studio! Sign up for any two clinics in August and receive a third one for FREE!

Heat Transfers Clinic

Thursday, July 15
4pm to 5pm

This is your chance to try two different techniques for transfering images with heat. We will use an iron and other heat tools to tranfer images to papers and other mediums.

Gel "Skin" Transfers

This is a transfer technique that creates an unusual stand alone dimensional piece that can be glued to a collage, card or page.

Goop Medium Transfers

This technique class covers how to use Gels and Mediums to transfer images onto other papers and surfaces. The first secret to making this technique work for you is practice, practice, practice which we can provide. The other element is luck, please bring as much as you have on hand. Tape Transfers Clinic

Did you know that you can do a transfer from a toner copy, a little water and clear tape? Okay, it helps to have a brayer too, but anyone can do it! Create these transfers and add them to card, scrapbooks or your altered books. It's fast, easy and a great vintage look.Taught by Helen Bosely.

This is your chance to experiment with these wonderful inks from Ranger. Used on non-porous surfaces, these inks have beautiful colors and can be applied several different ways for lots of different looks. Taught by Helen Bosely.

Heat Embossing Clinic

Heat embossing is so easy and satisfying, but there are ways to make it work consistently and different effects you can create. Learn the difference between inks and powders, even papers. Experiment with different combinations and get a taste of UTEE to create a tile effect. Taught by Helen Bosely.

Tips for Success

Rubber stamping is a little like Backgammon. It takes minutes to learn and a lifetime to understand all the subtleties. This clinic will include tips and tricks to be successful. We'll learn a bit about paper and inks, how to make your stamp images more successful, how to mask to create depth and a few ideas to color your stamping. Taught by Helen Bosely.

Learn multiple techniques to create vintage paper looks from any piece of paper. We will use Tim Holtz Distress ink pads of different colors with blending tools, water, tea stain inks, even coffee, to create your 4” X 4” samples. Taught by Helen Bosely.

It helps to know about how to make your 2 dimensional work look more 3 dimensional, how to make your focal point "pop.” We will work with pencils, pens and even a little paint to learn a few basic ideas to bring new dimension to your collage, cards and pages. Taught by Helen Bosely.

Learn more about some of the easiest and most useful techniques in Paper arts. We will cover where you need a mask and how to use sponges, stippling brushes and at least 2 different types of spray inks to create backgrounds and as coloring techniques. Taught by Helen Bosely.

This is the perfect class to learn all about how paper works when cutting it, tearing it, and folding it. We’ll use various tools including a paper trimmer, bone folder, scoring board, decorative scissors, and even a paint brush! Taught by Helen Bosely.

Using Spellbinders Wizard die cut machine is almost TOO easy when creating beautiful embossed and debossed effects. We will use embossing plates, brass stencils and even some unusual items to add texture to paper. Try it, you’ll like it! Taught by Helen Bosely.
