    Altered Book Beginnings

    Start at the beginning with Altered Books. Bring in any size, hard cover book with a strong binding to alter. Learn some of the basics, including how to add in and take out pages, adding color, and cutting a simple niche. First in the Altered Book Series. Taught by Helen Bosely.

    Altered Books: The Next Step

    The next steps are Cut Outs, Windows and Doors, how to cut them, where to cut them and why you want them. We'll use craft knives, punches & scissors to cut and even a bit of Tearing! Second in the Altered Book Series. Taught by Helen Bosely.

    Altered Books: The Next Layer

    So you've painted pages, cut sections out, created windows, etc. But you haven't completed the pages. Me either! In this class we will add additional layers of paint, ink and paper. We will explore Focal points and other interesting things to add. Who knows, we may even finish a page! Third in the Altered Book Series. Taught by Helen Bosely.

    This workshop is the perfect way to set aside time to be creative! Each session Helen will introduce a new idea or technique that you can expand on and incorporate into your book in your own unique way. She will be there to help inspire and problem solve. Working in a group is inspiring and fun, allowing you to work at your own pace and bounce ideas around. We highly recommend taking Altered Book Beginnings before attending the Workshop. Facilitated by Helen Bosely.

    Braille Bible Visual Journal

    We will be expressing ourselves with image & text in these beautiful no-longer-usable braille bibles. They provide a rich texture and the paper is an inspiration to work with. The large format is to inviting. You will love working in these unique volumes. Taught by Donna Bauermiller.

    Class fee: $49.00
    Braille Bible is an additional $27.00.

    Materials to bring:Windsor Newton Clear Gesso, 4 colors of Golden Fluid Acrylics, two or three 1.5" or 2" brushes, Bamboo Nib, White gel pen, Pencils, Waterproof Micron black pen, a clean rag, a few images & quotes that move you, pallette knife, heating tool (if you have one), and scissors.

    Women's After Work Craft Camp

    We will explore a few of the different patterns and materials used in this fun doodling discipline. Then you will create a finished piece that will be scanned and printed on an iron-on for you to use on your own shirt, apron or canvas bag. Bring your shirt or take it home to iron-on as you like.

    As a kid I was always attracted to the Spin Art booth at the Fair. As an adult, I discovered I could have my own Spin art machine to use! Come play with me and discover how to use different papers and inks to create wonderful backgrounds for cards, collage or scrapbook pages.

    We give you an introduction to the entire process of SoulCollage® and create one or two cards using the techniques discussed in class. A selection of images will be provided, but please bring any images that you may want to work with.

    Summer Studio Challenge Workshop

    Thursday, August 5
    6pm to 8pm

    During the Summer Studio Challenge, you will create a Mini Collage Grid. It consists of a series of 9 mini collages on 3.5” by 3.5” tiles. Each tile should have a background and focal point. Remember to overlap and go off the page. You will also be working in Black and White and one color randomly determined by spinning the color wheel. This workshop includes all the basic materials you need to complete the challenge. Taught by Helen Bosely.

    Nature Book

    Saturday, August 21
    12pm to 5pm

    In this class we will create a small journal of the Natural World. We will make our own paper pages and embellish them before using a simple stitch to attach our covers. It will take us some time, but it will be worth it! Taught by Helen Bosely.

    Class Fee: $45.
