Our New Website!
March 21, 2009 01:00 PM
Margarita Movie Nights has quickly become one of our most popular events here at ART on a Lark Studio. Every 2nd Friday of the month, you can join us for a craft movie and a margarita. Learn some fun techniques and enjoy a refreshing adult beverage! One of our favorite people, Michelle, put it best: we have so much going on “there’s no excuse not to do something!”
Beyond scheduling classes, creating new Walk-In Art Projects, and attempting to keep the studio presentable - we have been working very hard on getting our website up and running exactly how we want it to be. I’d love to give you a quick tour so you can find all of the information you may be looking for.
We are ALWAYS looking for helpful suggestions on how to make our website more user-friendly. If you see a glitch or have a tip - PLEASE let us know by e-mailing lark@artonalark.com.

- Under our Open Studio page you’ll find a list of all the various machines and tools you can use in our space. Plus you’ll find Membership information there.
- Walk-In Art Projects are updated as often as we have new projects (usually every Thursday - so keep looking!)
- Our classes are categorized by Project and Technique. If you cannot find what you’re looking for on either of those pages, shoot us an e-mail and let us know what you’re looking for! Most likely it just hasn’t been scheduled yet - but your interest will certainly encourage us to put it on the calendar.
- Events include everything from our Free Monday Demos to our special “once-a-year” events, like Mothers & Others.
- The Inspiration Galleries are going to include photos of many different projects you’ll find around the studio. In the future, we’d love to include and share photos of YOUR projects.
- Looking for directions to the studio or want to sign up for our e-newsletter? Visit our Contact Us page for all of those things.

What is our Open Studio?
March 13, 2009 01:00 PM
So, I think the biggest question people ask me is: "What is an Open Studio?"
Our vision was for a place that people can come and play. A place you WANT
to be in. Good lighting, good people, lots of room, comfortable chairs, lots
of supplies and creative inspiration. Kind of like your home away from home.
When I had Trifles, a rubber stamp store in Maryland, my wonderful customers would liken
the store to "Cheers" a place to hang out and feel relaxed with friends and
acquaintances who liked the same things you did, creative people who "get"
you. Where everyone knows your name! Not always easy to find.
So that is what we are trying to recreate here at ART on a Lark Studio. Only
with more room and more stuff to play with.

A Note from Helen

A Note from Helen:
What’s new at ART on a Lark Studio:
Already hanging on our shelves are six different NEW styles of Rubber Stamp Unmounted Sets in the Tim Holtz Collection!!! Like “Urban Tapestry” and “Psychedelic Grunge.” These are red rubber unmounteds that work with your acrylic blocks.
I’m so excited to get a chance to work with the new Teresa Collins “Family Matters” group of papers AND the book covers in the SO COOL 6”x12” format!!!
Still in the boxes are a bunch of new papers and embellishments from 7 Gypsies NEW collections from CHA. Lots of things from their “Vintage,” “Gypsy,” and “Savannah” collections. Including papers and book and journal kits and new things for ATC’s (Artist Trading Cards). And more FLOCKED paper! Yum!
Also still in the box (but not for long!) are Hambly Studios papers and TRANSPARENCIES!!! Also a few stickers and rub-ons I couldn’t resist.
More surprises soon, Helen.
